Lyrics

[Intro]
Snow hushes names the wind can’t carry,
One lone string aches through the white.

[Verse 1]
I learned to count the dead by footprints
vanishing at dawn, like breath on iron air.
Frost bit the blood from my knuckles,
I fed the last spark with a whispered prayer.
No gilded crown, just rime on my temples,
ice in the seams of a weathered brow.
They buried my hope in a drift of silence,
but I’m still standing, listening now.

[Pre-Chorus]
I kept an ember under ribs of winter,
cupped like a secret in a broken glove.
Night tried to salt me into nothing,
I answered back with a stubborn love.

[Chorus]
I wear my winter crown,
forged in the black of the year when the world went quiet.
I wear my winter crown,
cut from the cold that thought it could keep me silent.
Not gold, not bowed — these scars are how
the north remembers kings it couldn’t drown.
I wear my winter crown.
[Chant choir (low, under lead): hey—hey—oh—hey]

[Build]
Breathe in knives, breathe out thunder,
steel the lungs till the frost turns steam.
Hear the hills begin to answer,
hooves of drums on a buried stream.

[Drop]
[Instrumental Break — Solo violin carves a D minor battle-cry over growling dubstep bass; halftime war drums and taiko hammer, electric guitar swells; low male chants pulse in the roots. Fragments of the vow echo: “winter crown” — “hey!”]

[Verse 2]
Ravens stitch the sky with charcoal,
pine-beards frozen, watching me rise.
My shadow climbs the drift like granite,
heavy with the weight of old goodbyes.
I built a throne from snow and splinters,
not to sit, but to learn the chill.
It bowed to flame when my pulse grew louder —
a quiet law I bent by will.

[Pre-Chorus 2]
Cold tried to fold me into white,
I learned its language and spoke it down.
Now every shiver’s a battle standard,
every breath a drum in the ground.

[Chorus 2]
I wear my winter crown,
made of the nights the sun forgot to find me.
I wear my winter crown,
each frozen hour hammered, set to bind me —
not into stone, but into now.
I rise where ash and ice once weighed me down.
I wear my winter crown.
[Chant choir (low, under lead): hey—hey—oh—hey]

[Bridge]
(Just piano and voice)
I almost slept inside the drift,
I almost named the quiet “home.”
If you can hear me in this wind,
know I have learned to stand alone.
No trumpets, no warm, bright town —
just me, the snow,
and what I’ve sworn:
I wear my winter crown.

[Build 2]
Pull the coals till the ribcage brightens,
let the strings ignite the spine.
War steps rise like distant thunder —
count them, hold them, make them mine.
[Chant choir (low, under lead): hey—hey—hey—oh]

[Final Drop]
[Instrumental Break — The solo violin roars the main theme higher, bow gritty and fearless, slicing over a heavier growl of bass; taiko and live drums slam in halftime; electric guitar underlines each hit. Low male chants drive the earth. The lead voice cuts through with the oath in long tones:]
I wear my winter crown —
HEY —
my winter crown —
HEY —
I wear my winter crown.

[Outro]
Snow returns to a hush; one sustained violin note refuses to fade.
In the white, my breath hangs like a flag.
I walk on.
I wear my winter crown.
